Additionally, the company announced the release of its real-time protocol processor technology for PCIe Gen5 NVMe scanning and several modular calibration-free POD interposers.
New Gen5 x4 Analyzer editions include advanced architectural capabilities
Three tiered editions (Standard, Professional and Enterprise), designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of developers, are available with the new Kodiak Gen5 x4 Analysis System. Based on the Kodiak PCIe Gen5 x16 Analyzer System, the Kodiak PCIe Gen5 x4 Analyzer uses an integrated hardware architecture that offers substantial and unmatched advancements in capture, seek, and processing acceleration for PCIe analysis. Like all Kodiak PCIe scanners, interface responsiveness is significantly advanced, searches involving huge amounts of data are fast, and hardware filtering is flexible and powerful. Kodiak Gen5x4 Analyzer editions also leverage SerialTek’s new web browser-based BusXpert tracking application, REST API, JSON data exchange format, and advanced probing technology, providing the most powerful PCIe protocol system and the most efficient on the market.

The system has deep trace capture memory and multiple storage options. Trace files can be saved directly to internal storage (up to 4TB), attached storage (USB3.2 or PCIe OCuLink) or uploaded via two 10GbE (SFP+) ports or one 1GbE (RJ-45) network connection . Standard, Pro, and Enterprise editions are all field-upgradable.
Enhanced NVMe and PCIe Capabilities with Real-Time Protocol Processor Capabilities

Along with the release of the Kodiak PCIe Gen5 x4 Scan System, SerialTek released the industry’s most advanced PCIe Gen5 x4 interposers, supporting both 1×4 and 2×2 configurations. Form factors include EDSFF (E1.S/E1.L/E3.S), U.2, U.3, M.2, MCIO, and Slimline devices. These interposers, with SerialTek’s SI-Fi™ technology, extend coverage to enable testing in critical areas, including Link Shaping and State Machine (LTSSM), power management, branching hot, reset, and other cases where the physical characteristics of the channel may change .

To realize these advanced interposition capabilities, a custom Gen5 IC was created. This IC has been designed to provide extremely accurate electrical properties, as well as unparalleled ease of use for the end customer. The result is that tuning (calibration) is not required, and both host and endpoint signals pass through the interposer to enable true PCIe link formation and easy configuration. Competing PCIe parsers and interposers require time-consuming and signal-distorting tuning, which can lead to reliability issues because modern PCIe handshaking sequences occur dynamically. With Kodiak’s SI-Fi technology and adaptive equalization capabilities, users can save hours of setup time. If the characteristics of the link change (for example, Hot Plug or NSSR), Kodiak can track those changes dynamically, ultimately saving the user’s test.
